Letter to the President

 20/03/2022

HIS EXCELLENTLY RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE
President of the Republic of the Philippines
Malacañang Palace, City of Manila

Philippines

Dear Mr. President,

Good morning! I had never written a letter to a president before, but I am honored and grateful to have the opportunity to speak with you, Mr. President.

During your six-year term as President of the Philippines. I've noticed that a lot of changes have occurred in our country in the last year. I am concerned that your campaign rhetoric frequently advocated the killing of "criminals" and drug dealers, which has serious implications for Philippine human rights. In cities across the Philippines, there are near-daily media reports of unidentified attackers carrying out summary killings, often involving gunmen on motorcycles.

Thank you for taking the time to read my letter, Mr. President. I would appreciate the opportunity to express my views on human rights issues in our country.

Respectfully yours,

Kristina Cassandra Palacpac
