VIVA VIGAN! VIVA LONGGANISA FESTIVAL!!!

Every year on January 25, Vigan City Fiesta is celebrated. It was the feast day of St. Paul the Apostle, Vigan City's patron saint, who was converted. The Vigan City Fiesta is usually held over a few days. It involves the commemoration of Vigan's cityhood anniversary, which takes place every January 27.

People from all over the country and even from abroad come to Vigan to celebrate the fiesta when everything was normal and there was no COVID. Tourists come to enjoy the cultural shows, parades, and street dancing organized by the local government with the assistance of local businesses and communities. There are also food fairs, art and craft shows, and a visiting carnival. Participants from the region's neighboring provinces are also sent to compete in the street dancing.

Despite the presence of an invisible monster threatening the world this year, Vigan City did not fail to hold a simple fiesta celebration. The fiesta was simply celebrated with a Holy Mass, in accordance with safety protocols. A simple celebration to thank God and St. Paul, Vigan's patron saint, for all the blessings bestowed upon the city. Because of the pandemic, some activities, such as parades and street dancing, were unable to take place for the sake of everyone's safety.
